STLN2129 Growth mindsets for yourself and your students

Presenter: Coby Beatson

Growth mindset describes the underlying belief people have about learning and intelligence. In the education community it has been promoted by Carol Dweck. Our role as teachers is to encourage students to believe that they can learn, even when facing challenges. A student with an improved growth mindset will be a more effective learner and will be more engaged with learning tasks. The modelling from a teacher is influential in assisting students to develop their own growth mindsets and can be achieved within a single lesson or a longer period of time.
