CRT2230 Managing movement, noise and collaboration

Presenter: Brendan Tollit

Description:
A quiet classroom is not always a classroom in which learning is optimal. Collaboration between students in the classroom has been demonstrated to improve learning outcomes. Collaboration requires activity and movement and will involve noise. In this session an experienced teacher will share five activities that occur in their classroom, in which students are actively collaborating (and maybe noisily) in a safe and controlled manner and learning is occurring. The presenter of the course is a secondary teacher.

Course Length: 1 hour

Standards addressed:
  • 4.1.2 Support participation of learners
  • 4.2.2 Manage learning and teaching activities
