Description:
Students with sensory learning issues are part of the everyday experience for all teachers. Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can struggle to engage with the learning that is happening in the classroom. This session will provide background knowledge about the conditions of ASD and ADHD and how they typically manifest in the classroom. The presenter will then explore practical classroom strategies that can be used to promote engagement in the learning environment for those students.
