The daily sections below include each day's session information, presentation slides, downloadable handouts, and session surveys. Please note some information will only be made visible once the Academy begins.

NOVA Advocate Certification
The Academy has been approved by the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) Advocate Credentialing Program. By attending all of the Academy training sessions, students are eligible to receive National Provisional Advocate Credentialing through NOVA for an additional fee. After students obtain their Academy graduation certificate, they can choose to fill out an application form with NOVA (available throughout the Academy and online at www.trynova.org) and send in applicable fees to obtain this national credentialing. About the Academy
The Senator Tommy Burks Victim Assistance Academy is a project of the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence. The Academy is a comprehensive basic level training designed for victim service providers. The goal of the Academy is to improve services to crime victims by enhancing the knowledge and skills of victim advocates. This 40 hour in-person Tennessee-specific training is modeled after the National Victim Assistance Academy.
