Elida Villalba
Elida tiene más de 18 años de experiencia en la práctica jurídica internacional. Tiene una Maestría en Derecho (UNAM, México), Maestría en Derechos Humanos y Maestría en Asociaciones Público-Privadas (Universidad de Castilla la Mancha, España). Es doctora en Estudios Organizacionales y Teoría Cultural (St Gallen, Suiza). Su experiencia incluye consultoría en Asociaciones Público-Privadas en construcción de infraestructuras; WASH, creación y desarrollo de ONG; cuestiones de género (igualdad salarial, GbV, violencia política); movilidad humana; derechos indígenas. Entre otros trabajos recientes, ha colaborado en un proyecto de ONU Mujeres Ecuador en el desarrollo de cursos de formación sobre derechos de las mujeres en el contexto internacional. Le apasiona la investigación sobre los derechos humanos y cómo se ven afectados por el cambio climático. Su trabajo busca visualizar las interseccionalidades que hacen a algunos seres humanos más vulnerables que otros. Actualmente es profesora visitante e investigadora en dos universidades de Paraguay. Elida es paraguayo-suiza (residente en Zúrich), habla español, guaraní, inglés, alemán e italiano.

Laura Fernández Díaz
Laura is a creative and dynamic global health professional working for the past 13 years in public health, community engagement and strategic communications. She has extensive experience in relationship building, public relations, civil society and donor relations and working on a multisectoral model to help solve global health issues. Laura joined the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) in October 2017 as “Members and Partners Development Manager”. She is responsible for leading the engagement of civil society organisations in Africa, the Eastern Mediterranean and Latin America as UICC members. She also manages the CSO strategies with a particular focus on LMICs, supporting the cancer community and driving global impact. Her approach towards building collaboration within the UICC membership community supports delivering a robust community-building approach around UICC programmatic activities and campaigns such as World Cancer Day, Regional Meetings, the World Cancer Congress and other activities and campaigns. Today UICC has a total of 1212 member organisations in 174 countries.
Before UICC, Laura worked as Member Relations Officer at the International AIDS Society, an international NGO working on the field of HIV with a membership of over 10,000. Laura worked in severalNGOs in Spain and the UK as a fundraising, governance and member relations professional. Born in Spain, Laura is fluent in English, French, and her native Spanish and Gallego. She holds a Master’s Degree in International and European Politics from the University of Edinburgh, UK and a degree in Political Sciences from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
