Narrative Description:
This session reviews a wide variety of hematopoietic proliferations that may come across the scope of any practicing hematopathologist. This includes cases of lymphoblastic leukemia and myeloid neoplasms as well as vascular splenic and unusual responses to viruses in hematopoietic tissues.

Topics Covered:
  • Diagnostic evaluation of eosinophilia
  • Bone marrow manifestations of viral infections
  • The diagnosis of neoplasms with plasmablastic morphologic features
  • Unusual splenic proliferations

Learning Objectives:
  • Understand the assays most useful for the evaluation of neoplastic eosinophilic disorders
  • Understand the use of different viral assays to classify disorders with plasmablastic features
  • Recognize disease infiltration patterns that are unique to the spleen
  • Understand genetic aberrations reflective of a variety of hematopoietic proliferative and neoplastic conditions.
