The current economic climate has seen a rise in litigation in general, particularly in claims against title insurers and settlement agents. Because the relationship between title insurers and settlement agents is replete with risk of loss to the title insurer, it is crucial for insurers to understand the various means of recouping loss arising out of errors, omissions or intentional acts of negligence on the part of settlement agents. Raighne (pronounced "Renny") Delaney is a shareholder with the firm. He practices in the area of general civil litigation.
