This class focuses on the “gray areas” and tough questions encountered by title examiners, agents, and underwriters when approaching everyday title exam issues. Specific topics will include: testacy and intestacy; tenancies; altered documents; powers of attorney; easements; foreclosure; judgments & liens; prudent inquiry; and court orders. The goal of the class is to help title industry professionals correct some common errors and misjudgments to avoid claims.

Frank McCormick, Esq.

Frank McCormick is a 1968 graduate of the University of Richmond and a 1973 graduate of the University of Richmond Law School. He practiced in the private sector for twelve years and joined the title industry in 1985. Mr. McCormick has lectured extensively on title insurance, and is an adjunct Professor of Law at William and Mary Law School, where he teaches “Title Insurance – The Law and Practice.” Currently he is Senior Vice President and Virginia Agency manager for the Fidelity National Title Group.
