Description
This self-directed learning series features expert lectures on the co-morbidity of asthma and allergic rhinitis. It provides a clear overview of the link between asthma and allergic rhinitis, the impact of allergic rhinitis on asthma, potential differences between both diseases, and an integrated therapeutic strategy for the diagnosis and management of allergic rhinitis and asthma.


Target Audience

These modules will be valuable to allergists/immunologists, pulmonologists, otorhinolaryngologists, pediatricians, internists and primary care physicians. The series is especially valuable for physicians in the emerging allergy societies of the World Allergy Organization.

Motohiro Ebisawa, MD, PhD is Director, Department of Allergy, Clinical Research Center, Sagamihara National Hospital, Japan. Dr. Ebisawa is an active member of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology and a member of the World Allergy Organization Board of Directors.

Marek Kowalski, MD, PhD is Chair, Department of Immunology, Rheumatology and Allergy, and Chair, Clinical Immunology and Microbiology, Univesrity of Łódź, Poland. Ruby Pawankar, MD, PhD is Professor, Nippon Medical School, Japan. She discloses research interests with the Ministry of Educaiton, Government of Japan. Dr. Pawankar is an active member of the Japanese Society of Allergology, the Allergic Rhinitis and Its Impact on Asthma (ARIA), the Asian Rhinology Symposium, and the America Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. In addition, he is Assistant Professor, Allergy and Clinical Immunology Department, Centro Mdico Docente La Trinidad, Caracas, Venezuela.
