Description
This self-directed, electronic learning series features expert lectures on the co-morbidities of asthma and allergic rhinitis. It provides a clear overview of the link between asthma and allergic rhinitis, the impact of allergic rhinitis on asthma, potential differences between both diseases, and an integrated therapeutic strategy for the diagnosis and management of allergic rhinitis and asthma.

Target Audience
This learning series will be valuable to allergists/immunologists, pulmonologists, otorhinolaryngologists, pediatricians, internists, and primary care physicians. This series will be especially valuable for physicians in the emerging markets that the World Allergy Organization serves through its Emerging Societies Program.



Online Symposium Faculty
Ruby Pawankar, MD, PhD is Professor of Allergy, Department of Pediatrics at Nippon Medical School in Tokyo, Japan, and Guest Professor at the Kyung Hee University School of Medicine in Seoul, Korea and Showa University School of Medicine in Tokyo, Japan. Professor Pawankar is President of the World Allergy Organization (2012-2013).
Chaweewan Bunnag, MD is Professor Emerita in Otorhinolaryngology in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Faculty of Medicine, of Siriraj Hospital and Mahidol University, in Bangkok, Thailand. Professor Bunnag is the Chief Editor of the Asian Pacific Journal of Allergy and Immunology.
Giorgio Walter Canonica, MD, PhD is Chairman of the Department of Medical Specialties at the University Hospital San Martino Genoa. He is also Director of the Allergy & Respiratory Diseases Clinic, Genoa University Italy, which is a GA2LEN Centre of Excellence. He is first Vice President of Interasma and a Board Member of ARIA (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma) guidelines. Professor Canonica is Historian and member of the Board of Directors as well as Past President (2008-2009) of the World Allergy Organization.
Sandra Nora González-Díaz, MD, PhD is Head and Professor of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Department of Internal Medicine, University Hospital and General Director of Development and Graduates of Autónoma University of Nuevo León (UANL). Professor González-Díaz is a member of the Board of Directors of the World Allergy Organization.
Elham Hossny, MD, PhD is Professor of Pediatrics and Allergy/Immunology at Ain Shams University, Cairo. She is a board member of the Egyptian Society of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology (ESPAI), and Associate-Editor of the Egyptian Journal of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. Professor Hossny is a member of the Board of Directors of the World Allergy Organization.
Eli O. Meltzer, MD is Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego, and past Chief, Division of Allergy and Immunology at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego. Dr. Meltzer is Senior Associate with Allergy & Asthma Medical Group and Research Center in San Diego.
Nelson Rosário Filho, MD, PhD is Full Professor of Pediatrics at Federal University of Parana, Curitiba, Brazil (UFPR) and Chairman of Division of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and Pneumology, Hospital de Clinicas, University of Parana, and Head of a two-year fellowship program in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology (UFPR). Professor Rosário is a member of the Board of Directors of the World Allergy Organization.
Glenis K. Scadding, MD is Honorary Consultant Physician in Allergy and Rhinology at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital, Honorary Senior Lecturer in Clinical Immunology at Royal Free & University College London School of Medicine, Immediate Past President of the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI) 2009-2012 and President of the UK Semiochemistry Network.
