ADMS Certificate Program

EARN YOUR ASSOCIATE DISABILITY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST CERTIFICATE!
If you are working in disability management but do not yet meet the eligibility requirements for the Certified Disability Management Specialist credential, the Associate Disability Management Specialist (ADMS™) Certificate Program offers a meaningful and strategic step in your professional journey.

The disability management field continues to evolve, expanding across nursing, human resources, safety, risk management, leave administration, and benefits coordination. Employers are increasingly seeking professionals who understand both the human and business dimensions of disability — individuals who can support recovery and return-to-work while also navigating regulatory requirements, managing costs, and protecting organizational productivity. The ADMS program was designed to meet that demand.

The pathway to earning the ADMS designation is successful completion of the Core Knowledge Curriculum (CKC™), a comprehensive, fully online program dedicated exclusively to disability management and employment leave administration. Developed from job analysis research and the established professional body of knowledge, the CKC delivers practical, case-based learning that reflects real-world practice.

Curriculum Overview
Introductory Module – Core Competencies
Establishes the foundational competencies and professional expectations central to effective disability management practice.

Module 1 – Disability & Work Interruption Case Management
Focuses on ethical case management processes, including information gathering, regulatory interpretation, benefit coordination, and development of effective return-to-work plans that promote recovery, quality outcomes, and cost efficiency.

Module 2 – Workplace Intervention & Disability Prevention
Examines organizational assessment, policy evaluation, labor relations, financial considerations, and the implementation of prevention and wellness strategies, such as ergonomics and job analysis, to reduce workplace risk.

Module 3 – Program Development, Management & Evaluation
Covers design and implementation of comprehensive disability management programs, including qualitative and quantitative measurement, financial risk interpretation, performance metrics, and outcomes tracking.

Module 4 – Employment Leaves & Benefits Administration
Addresses management of health-related employment leaves, administration of health and welfare plans, payroll systems coordination, and risk mitigation related to work interruption.

Throughout the program, learning is reinforced through practical tools, interactive exercises, and case studies that encourage application rather than memorization. Pre- and post-tests allow participants to measure their progress and demonstrate knowledge acquisition. To successfully complete the program, learners must achieve a cumulative passing score of 80 percent across all module post-tests, with up to three retakes permitted per module.

Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate in the LMS and are authorized to use the ADMS™ digital badge, which signifies demonstrated knowledge and a commitment to excellence in disability management practice.

For professionals who are building experience, expanding responsibilities, or preparing for future certification, the ADMS Certificate Program provides recognized validation of knowledge and professional dedication. It is more than a course of study; it is a statement of commitment to advancing both competence and credibility in a field where qualified professionals are increasingly essential.
