Course Description
Earlier this year, the Internal Revenue Service resumed sending reminder collection notices and letters that were paused during the pandemic. We will review these collection notices and how to respond to them.

Learning Objectives
After this session, you will be able to:
  • Better understand the stream of collection notices;
  • Review how to respond to some of the more common notices;
  • Identify which notices are reflected on the IRS transcripts.

Clarice Landreth, EA
Clarice Landreth is an enrolled agent who works at Omni Tax Solutions in Broomfield, CO. She has over 20 years of experience representing taxpayers before the IRS. She is currently the chair of the NAEA NTPI Planning Committee and a current speaker at NAEA’s events and for the NTPI program. She is an expert in tax resolution including Offers in Compromise and Trust Fund Recovery Penalty.
Ricardo Rivas, EA
Ricardo Rivas has been an enrolled agent since 1996 after he had worked in the tax profession for over ten years. He is a proud member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and is a fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute.

He has been self-employed for over 35 years, started his tax preparation business in Santa Ana, California and relocated to Texas in 2001. He served as Treasurer, 2nd Vice President, and President of the Texas Society of Enrolled Agents. He has testified before the Texas Congress on behalf of Tax Preparers.
