Data Sharing with Waze and Other Navigation Providers

Webinar Description:

This webinar will focus on data sharing with commercial navigation providers, such as Waze, Google and Apple, to assist traffic engineers to amplify their public messaging to inform the traveling public and assist them in making smarter, safer journeys. This webinar will provide an overview of Waze data sharing, Work Zone Data Exchange (WZDx) and Connected Work Zones (CWz) programs and how federal, state, and local governments are scheduling planned closures on streets for construction, sharing live work zone information, and finding congested routes to prioritize resources and ensure efficient journeys for the traveling public.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the significance of collaborating and data sharing with commercial navigation providers like Waze, Google, and Apple for traffic engineers to enhance traveler information to facilitate smarter and safer journeys.
  • Explore the Waze data sharing program, Work Zone Data Exchange (WZDx), and Connected Work Zones (CWz) initiatives, including their features, functionalities, and benefits to traffic management.
  • Discover how federal, state, and local governments are utilizing these platforms to communicate planned street closures for construction, share live work zone information, and identify congested routes to effectively manage traffic flow.

PDH/CM Credit Certificate: If you would like PDH/CM Credit for this webinar, there is a processing fee for each registrant of $20 regardless of membership status to receive 1.5 PDH/CM credits certificate.

Instructions and link will be provided at the conclusion of the live event. For the on-demand recording, instructions are provided at the bottom of this page on how to purchase the evaluation to complete and receive the PDH credit certificate. Participants are able to purchase and retrieve their certificate until their access to the content expires. After the content expires the certificate opportunity is forfeited.

All registrants will have access to the recording for 30 days once it is posted. Additional attendees at one location are not eligible to earn PDH credit for viewing an archived recording.

Additional Live Webinar Attendees at one location are eligible for earning credit for attending. The registrant, with whom they view the webinar with, must distribute the same evaluation purchase link they are provided on the PDH Credit Certificate -- Fees Associated page to their additional attendee to purchase the PDH Credit Certificate.

Webinar Contributors typically provide a PDF of their presentations; but this may vary on a case by case basis. If they are provided, ITE will upload the presentations into the resources tab of this event within 24 hours after the live event.

Event Log-on Instructions:
On the day of the webinar, return to this page to join the live web event that you purchased. Click the live web event below, and a button to join will appear 30 minutes before the specified start time.

Policies:
The webinar recording will be made available on-demand it will have a shelf life of 60 days to register before it is archived. Participants are able to purchase and retrieve their PDH credit certificate until their access to the content expires. After the content expires and goes into archive, the PDH credit certificate opportunity is forfeited. No refunds.
