This module provides an overview of defensible, auditable documentation and related billing for aquatic services in a variety of settings. Primary focus areas include an overview of critical documentation components, validation of medical necessity and billing nuances related to successful reimbursement for aquatic services.

After completing this course you will be able to:
- Identify the essential components of the defensible, meaningful clinical documentation required for medical records
- Describe the components of documentation required to support and justify medical necessity for therapy services
- Apply the five fundamental elements of quality documentation to aquatic physical therapy
- Correlate documentation to billing and reimbursement for aquatic physical therapy services
- Differentiate between rehabilitation and maintenance therapy in aquatics physical therapy
- Describe billing considerations in aquatic physical therapy practice
- Discuss common errors and primary causes for denials of claims
