This first community concierge initiative in the state of Wisconsin aids employers with talent attraction and retention challenges and currently accounts for 7.2% of the La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce's revenue.

    Beth Franklin is the Workforce Strategies Director at the La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce. She was hired in 2019 to develop the first community concierge initiative in the state of Wisconsin to aid employers with talent attraction and retention challenges. She built the First Friend Newcomer Connection Program, an award-winning workforce initiative that strengthens businesses, fosters partnerships, builds inclusivity, and focuses on serving those from underrepresented identities. Her efforts also include developing and supporting other workforce initiatives such as the region’s talent attraction campaign, K-12 and higher education pipeline efforts, and DEI initiatives. Prior to the work at the Chamber, she taught middle and high school English.
