This presentation will discuss the keys to negotiating with power. Medical Providers don't always know how to find their leverage and what to fight for. Midwives are especially misunderstood and often confused as to their role and position. Education is helpful to show the employer what your role is within the entity and how you can provide value. You can't negotiate everything. Learn to negotiate what matters.

(1) Learn the key skills in negotiating contracts
(2) Learn how to find your own leverage and use it to your advantage
(3) Realize that picking your battles is key and know which battles to pick

Speakers Bios
Amanda Hill, JD is a healthcare attorney in Austin, Texas. She worked for the U.S. Government defending large hospitals before becoming General Counsel for several large groups. She has worked with physicians and health care management her entire career, providing guidance, training, and counsel. Recently, Amanda launched Guard My Practice to try and prevent problems providers were facing BEFORE they occurred and help to train and educate physicians about the business side of medicine. This company provides 15 min videos on all kinds of topics that affect healthcare providers to help them feel safe and protected, such as contracts, fraud and abuse, employment issues, partnership concerns, HIPAA, dealing with difficult patients, and more.
