The Faucett Review: an AMCB Certification Exam Prep

Course Description

Over the course of five hours, participants will review pertinent content and test-taking strategies to prepare for the AMCB Certification exam for Certified Nurse-Midwives and Certified Midwives. Participants will learn innovative test-taking tips to help them tackle the exam and gain confidence in approaching standardized exam questions. The Faucett Review method involves four components: Content, Discipline, Realism, and Strategy. Participants will need to watch the 3 and a half hours of video content prior to attending the live webinar. Content includes modules on: the AMCB exam psychology, setting realistic goals, making a study schedule, the art of studying effectively, how to approach practice quizzes, creating flashcards, practicing a blankie page, test-taking tips, metacognition, and test anxiety. In the one and a half hour live webinar, Dr. Faucett will cover common topics that students historically find to be the most challenging. Test-taking tips will be reinforced with sample questions. Content covered will include: Primary Care, Antepartum Care, Intrapartum Care, Postpartum Care, Newborn Care, and GYN. All topic areas are based on the AMCB candidate catalog Midwifery Skills Tasklist.

The teaching style caters to neurodiverse individuals and helps the “neurotypical” as well!. The material is broken down into bite-size chunks with a lot of humor and laughter threaded in! Sometimes we learn from the most ridiculous memory devices- but it will stick!
