Course Description
In this program we will discuss the underlying problems with POTS connectivity at all levels of communication, how cellular communications have impacted the industry, and explain the technology developed for it. To further the understanding of how NFPA 72 applies to alternative communication paths, such as cellular, we will refer to specific codes and point out how UL Listed communicators can achieve compliance. This course also compares concepts such as redundancy and supervision to highlight the benefits of cellular communication in fire alarm systems.

Daniel Rosales, Telguard

Daniel has a degree in Computer Engineering from Florida Atlantic University. Soon after graduating, he moved to Georgia and began to work for the technical support staff for Telular Corporation, manufacturers of the Telguard communicators. With over 15 years of experience in the industry, Daniel is now the Sr Director of Technical Service and Support in charge of the Telguard division. He played an important role in the deployment of the first Commercial Fire Sole Path communicator as well as the successful technology transitions that came from the Analog, 2G, and 3G/CDMA sunsets. In his current role, Daniel oversees the technical department that supports the Telguard product line, and as such has intimate knowledge of the state of the industry from the security, the life-safety and PERS aspects, from the residential to the commercial space. In addition to overseeing the top-of-class technical support department, Daniel also leads the Product Management team for Telguard as it builds the foundation for the innovative efforts that Telguard is known for. As a technology-minded member of the industry, Daniel has been able to facilitate multiple lectures and in-depth educational sessions on broad topics relating to NFPA72, Cellular Evolution, as well as general understanding of Cellular emerging technologies and their application to IoT, Security and Life Safety.As a customer-focused leader, who believes that a strong support system is not just desired but necessary for customer success, Daniel has driven initiatives for Telguard to not only improve its technical support of Telguard products but has also looked to establish great working relationships with peers in the industry that allows Telguard to go above and beyond the standard when it comes to assisting customers.
