Learning Objectives
This 60-minute presentation will provide an in-depth look at the Accessibility requirements for dwelling units and sleeping units, in accordance with the IBC 2018.
Course Description
This 60-minute presentation will provide an in-depth look at the Accessibility requirements for dwelling units and sleeping units, in accordance with the IBC 2018 and the variety of scoping standards that apply, including the difference between Accessible, Type A, Type B, Type C, and Units with Communication Features and the level of notification required in each unit type.

Eric Hamerski has been in the fire alarm industry for nearly 24 years, beginning his career in inspections and service and then design. He is the lead fire alarm designer for Performance Systems Integration. He is NICET level 3 in Fire Alarm Systems.

Chris Russell has been in the fire life safety industry for 19 years; designing fire sprinkler systems for 15 years and fire alarm systems for 10 years. He has a NICET level 3 in Water Based Fire Protection Systems Layout and Fire Alarm Systems. He currently serves as Chair of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the American Fire Sprinkler Association. He is a member of the Electronic Security Association’s Standards Committee and represents them as a technical committee member on NFPA 1 (FCC-OCP), 72 (SIG-PRO), & 170 (FIS-AAA).
