Understanding Diverse Learning Profiles Certificate Program

AISAP is proud to partner with Frankenberger Associates Learning Solutions Center on a Certificate program designed to better understand the learners in front of you.

Regardless of the students you enroll in your school, 1 out of 5 will have a learning challenge. We will train you to understand different types of learning challenges, unpack misperceptions and biases about learning disabilities, decipher neuropsychological/psychoeducational evaluations, ask questions to glean student learning profiles, employ classroom strategies to help all students, and demonstrate your knowledge through case studies. This information is presented through a six-module course of multiple videos, each of which provides required and supplemental readings and a multiple-choice assessment. Not only will you better understand the learners you interview in the admissions process, but your teachers will utilize strategies and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of ALL students in your school.

You’ll learn to:
  • Understand key cognitive/learning challenges/disabilities, terminology, and concepts
  • Identify, through reflection, common misperceptions of students with learning differences that arise in the interview/application process or in the classroom
  • Understand and interpret neuropsychological/psychoeducational evaluations including tests, test patterns, and scores to understand a student’s cognitive/learning profile
  • Learn key questions that can be asked to tease apart learning strengths, average abilities, and challenges for the students you interview as well as teach in the classroom
  • Provide faculty with the tools and strategies (primarily executive function) they need to ensure students achieve the most success
  • Demonstrate your knowledge through case studies

Each video class connects to the next and you will be able to come back to these sessions at any time. You will have easy access to the course materials to support you in this journey.
