Thank you for participating in Session 2 of this course!

Description

We will consider the role of the Pollyanna assessment process in bridging the gap between explicit and implicit DEIB values in their school communities. Independent schools love to tell stories about themselves. Mission statements, diversity statements, admissions, and marketing materials center on the school’s most explicitly stated values. But how do we know if our school community’s implicit values align with how we describe them officially for all the world to see? Can we know if the behaviors and beliefs of the people in our community reflect the explicit values stated in our official documents? Can we stand behind the stories we tell about ourselves, particularly with regard to DEIB efforts? This interactive workshop will feature a presentation of content, small breakout discussions, and large group considerations of “big ideas” and questions.
