Overview

As technology changes and grows, AAC systems change and grow too. PRC-Saltillo strives to provide AAC systems with hardware and software features that meet these changing needs. In this session, you will learn about the newest hardware and software features for our Accent, NovaChat, and Via devices, as well as our AAC Apps, TouchChat HD- with WordPower, LAMP Words for Life, and Dialogue AAC.

Biography

Heather has been a speech-language pathologist for 20 years, with 17 years working in the schools, and 6 of those years as an AAC support person for a large school district. She was a regional AAC Consultant for PRC-Saltillo for 4 years in MN and is currently a Training and Implementation Specialist for PRC-Saltillo. Heather has presented locally and nationally on language, literacy, and AAC, with an emphasis on the adolescent and young adult population.

Nicole Palumbo, MS, CCC-SLP

Biography

Originally from Boston, MA, Nicole attended the University of New Hampshire where she obtained her Bachelors in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and then traveled to the University of Florida for her Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. Nicole has experience working in a variety of settings including a post-acute rehab center, skilled nursing facility, a private school for children with Autism, and most recently at a specialized private school for children with complex communication needs and multiple disabilities. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, enjoying the outdoors, and traveling.
