A picture speaks a thousand words but what do you do if you have only 120 characters? Learn about applying alt+text to support images, build branding, and help to support all learners and stakeholders. Challenging “it’s the law” with “it’s the right choice,” we tackle the challenge of addressing the compliance of providing accessible images, materials/ resources to all stakeholders and learners while building a culture of inclusivity. Many want to know better/do better but they don’t know what “better” looks like. This session will help you to "Shout" instead of playing "The Sounds of Silence" on repeat.
Learning Objectives
- Identify three common legal issues and/or related laws regarding accessibility and alternative text (a.k.a. alt+tags).
- Develop five alt+tags samples with a variety of images and multimedia.
- Identify the location of alt+tag tools within five different types software and applications such as Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
