This session demonstrates how assistive technology (AT) and artificial intelligence (AI) can create inclusive math education for blind and low-vision students. Educators will learn to create accessible math content using tools such as Word's Math Editor, LaTeX, and others. The session includes discussions on AI tools like Khanmigo, ChatGPT, and Bing AI for teaching concepts, as well as the use of AT for math instruction. Additionally, AI tools for tutoring and problem-solving support will be demonstrated, providing personalized learning experiences for students.
Learning Objectives
- Identify how to use Equation Editor using Word's Math Editor and LaTeX to make math content accessible in one document.
- Describe how to create an accessible math document in Word using ten symbols and learning math ribbon.
- Discuss five pros and five cons of use of AI tools like Khanmigo, ChatGPT, and Bing AI for teaching concepts, tutoring, and problem-solving support in math education.

Biography
Dr. Denise M Robinson is the Director and President of TechVision, LLC, an educational company that provides innovative solutions for students with blindness or low vision, in all academic areas with extensive STEM education, program evaluation and development. Dr. Robinson has widespread experience in the fields of education and technology, and she has held a variety of leadership roles throughout her career. She holds a PhD in Online Design of Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Educational Technology using all blind skills. Dr Denise M Robinson founded TechVision in 2007 with a growing Team, to teach students remotely around the world how to fully access their education and social environment to fully participate in their schools, jobs and personal lives. She and her Team work directly with students and school personal; teaching the skills, to use the same tools that are commonly used in the world, such as personal computers but with screen readers, braille displays, smart phone and other adaptive technology to give anyone with a visual impairment the ability to not just be included but fully participate into society.
