Overview

The iPad offers a world of apps ranging from social media and entertainment to education and personal management. With augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) applications broadly available for iPads, we are increasingly seeking ways support needs and interests beyond communication for those who require access accommodations. Has your client been using eye gaze, scanning, or touch with modifications to access their communication software and now they want to do more? Do they need to practice their access method outside their AAC app? This session will suggest and demonstrate use of five considerations when selecting iPad apps (outside of AAC) for touch, eye gaze, and scanning: motivation/goal, current ability, upskilling (next skills to learn), iPad setting modifications, and in-app adjustments.

Content Disclosure: This presentation will focus primarily on Tobii Dynavox products and may not include information on other similar or related products.
