Christine M. Carmichael, PhD, CCC-SLP
Dr. Chris Carmichael is a Professor, School Director, and Graduate Program Director of the Woolfolk School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Our Lady of the Lake University. She is also the Director of the Voice and Swallowing Clinic and Lab in the Harry Jersig Speech-Language-Hearing Center. Her research has focused on respiratory dysfunction related to voice and swallowing deficits in neurogenic populations, electrical stimulation for dysphagia, myofascial release for voice and swallowing disorders, and respiratory training for long COVID. In addition, she researches and presents on holistic graduate admissions processes. Dr. Carmichael serves on the TSHA Medical Committee. She has presented at numerous local, state, national, and international conferences including SASHLA, TSHA, ASHA, CAPCSD, ATIA, Motor Speech, DRS.Disclosures
