JPII: Culture of Life

This online independent study course will study the new synthesis of the Faith as taught by St. John Paul II. Recognizing the need to explore ways of explaining the Faith in an increasingly secularized and post-Christian world, St. John Paul II made use of the philosophical movement called phenomenology and applied it to Divine Revelation (Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition), and particularly to a renewed understanding of created persons as images of God. This course explains the thought of St. John Paul II in language that is understandable and stimulating for the average lay person. Those who complete this course should be able to describe the theology of St. John Paul II in general, his theology of the human person, and his theology of love.
