Professional Development: Finding Meaningfulness in Your Work

CMSA’s Standards of Practice advocate for case managers to embrace the need for life-long learning to access best practices and awareness of emerging models of care that can improve the health outcomes of those we serve. The common goals of professional development in healing professions include access to evidence-based practice guidelines, and improvements in patient safety and care quality. When case managers engage in professional growth activities, they can find meaningfulness in their work and contribute to the greater good.

Objectives:

  1. Define the varied opportunities for professional growth.
  2. Describe how professional growth activities translate to improved health outcomes.
  3. Describe how professional growth translates to meaningful work.
