Protective Coatings and Corrosion, a WebReach with PPG

About This Program

The protection of steel from the environment is essential for both the longevity and aesthetics of a project. This program details what corrosion is and shows the difference in protective coatings and traditional architectural coatings. Discussion will include the factors used to determine the appropriate coating system for a specific project.

Session Takeaways

  • The participant will understand how High-Performance Coatings differ from Architectural Coatings
  • The participant will be exposed to “what is corrosion” including the different types of corrosion and the importance of surface preparation.
  • The participant will learn about ISO 12944 classification and its importance to corrosion control.
  • The participant will learn about different coatings systems strengths and weaknesses as they apply to corrosion control.
