Exploring the New AWI Casework Standards, a Tech Talk with AWI Quality Certification Program

About This Program

To educate architects, specifiers & designers on the new ANSI/AWI Casework Standards. There are now laboratory tested manufacturing methods and materials to prove the structural performance of the casework being specified. This new standard also allows for proprietary manufacturing methods to be performance tested and specified while giving scientific validation & accountability to the woodworking industry as a whole.

Session Takeaways

  • Identify differences between the previous AWS Ed 2 Casework Standard and the new AWI Architectural Casework standard.
  • Educate on differences between aesthetic-based standards (AWS Ed 2) and structural performance-based standards.
  • Become familiar with the impact of the ANSI & Performance Based Testing processes as they relate specifically to the Casework Standard.
  • Learn how the specifier benefits by using the new ANSI/AWI Casework Standards, resulting in time & product efficiencies, while increasing the validity & accountability of the woodworking industry.
