2018 FLC National Meeting

About this Event

The 2018 FLC National Meeting, held April 24–26 in Philadelphia, convened federal technology transfer professionals, agency leaders, industry partners, researchers, and innovators from across the country for robust dialogue, learning, and recognition.

Under the theme “Celebrating American Innovation,” the gathering showcased how federal laboratories and their partners are translating ideas into real-world impact, while advancing the national innovation ecosystem.

  • Expert training tracks in core tech transfer fields (e.g. licensing, CRADAs, marketing, negotiation) for both new and seasoned T2 professionals.
  • High-impact plenary and general sessions, including discussions on metrics for technology transfer, federal policy trends, and lab–industry collaboration strategies.
  • Industry Day, with panels and sessions engaging non-federal stakeholders, including discussion of the White House’s ROI Initiative and cross-sector R&D partnerships.
  • Recognition of excellence through the FLC National Awards, honoring outstanding contributions in technology transfer across agencies and laboratories.
  • Opportunities for networking, idea exchange, and collaboration across federal, industry, and academic communities

Through its combination of training, policy insight, peer exchange, and celebration of achievements, the 2018 National Meeting reinforced the FLC’s mission to catalyze federal lab innovations from concept to marketplace and strengthen lab-industry partnerships nationwide.
