Nahla Ivy presents the second in a series of webinars that will introduce the core concepts of Risk Management. In this second webinar, Nahla Ivy will continue the discussion by explaining Enterprise Risk Management and its value to your technology transfer office. This session expands on the foundations introduced in the first webinar and will dive deeper into risk management principles and will introduce enterprise risk management. The session will discuss the origin and application of ERM as a best practice in the federal government and how an enterprise-wide view of a portfolio of risks within your organization can position your organization for greater success in achieving its objectives.

  • Nahla Ivy

    Nahla Ivy is the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Officer for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce in Gaithersburg, MD. As the first ERM Officer at NIST, Ms. Ivy leads the development and implementation of the agency-wide ERM program. She helped establish and co-chair a federal community of interest on the integration of cybersecurity and ERM and has co-authored a NIST document series on the subject (NISTIR 8286). She recently supported the standup of the new CHIPS program office at NIST to advance the U.S. semiconductor industry. Prior to joining NIST, Ms. Ivy implemented risk management and internal controls programs at the U.S. Department of Energy, including risk oversight of DoE’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) programs and served in private industry as a research director and product manager for an investment services and corporate governance firm. She has an M.B.A from University of Maryland’s R.H. Smith School of Business and an B.A. from the College of William and Mary.
