5109.0 There's no place like Home: The Built Environment and Violence Prevention

The built environment plays a major role in hindering or inducing violence and crime— vacant lots, abandoned buildings, and limited green spaces often correlate with criminal activity. Community design and place-based interventions help interrupt cycles of neighborhood level violence and create sustainability. Presenters will discuss engaging community, stakeholders and other methods to create safe and healthy communities that center equity.
