How to Claim your CE Certificate

ACCREDITATION STATEMENTS

Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES® & MCHES®) - TheAmerican Public Health Association is accredited by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc., to sponsor continuing education for Certified Health Education Specialists and Master Certified Health Education Specialists.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) - The American Public Health Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Designation Statement: APHA designated this online educational activity for a maximum of 19 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM . Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) - American Public Health Association is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by American Public Health Association’s Public Health Nursing Section (APHA/PHN], an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Certified in Public Health (CPH) - APHA is an approved provider of Certified in Public Health Continuing Education Credit (CPHCE) by the National Board of Public Health Examiners.

HOW TO CLAIM YOUR CE CERTIFICATE
  • You will be able to claim one certificate type per session. 
  • First, click on the session you wish to view.
  • Next click on the video presentation. This is the first item in the session and is designated with a purple film icon. 
  • You must watch the recorded presentation in full in order to begin taking the assesment. 
  • Once you have viewed the full recording, return to the session page and scroll down to select your assessment type (i.e. CHES, CNE, CPH).
  • For obtaining MCHES® or CHES® credits, you must first complete a one question survey to provide your MCHES® or CHES® number. This is required for reporting to the accrediting body. 
  • Complete the assessment. A passing score of 70% is requred to earn credit. You may take each assessment 5 times.
  • Once finished, click “Submit,” click “Next Item” and you will be able to view or print your certificate
  • You can always re-visit your earned certificates by clicking on your name in the upper right hand corner
