The Fact Pattern: Walkinshaw

a case from the international criminal court

This fact pattern is based on a real case before the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague. It has been adapted specifically for the NATP by HEJ Joanna Korner.

To be successful at the NATP, you should be very familiar with case: know the facts and players inside and out. Also understand what evidence you should know or use based on your role as prosecution and defense.

Sensitivity Warning! The fact pattern is based on a real case that was tried in the international courts after the war in the former Yugoslavia. It has been changed a little bit, but is still striking and even a little bit disturbing as it deals with war and genocide.
