Moderator:

Speakers:

With virtual congresses becoming the new normal, publication professionals have had to pivot and adapt to a changing and uncertain environment, while ensuring the effective dissemination of data and information. Some of the common challenges encountered in this process include shorter timelines, varying congress guidelines, additional responsibilities related to audio/video presentations, non-responsive authors, and loss of face-to-face interactions at meetings.

Additionally, the audience’s style of consumption of content is rapidly evolving; the “manuscript on a poster” style is becoming obsolete and there is an increasing need for communication professionals to deliver bite-sized, easy-to-digest, impactful content through effective use of visual communication. Indeed, scientific congresses as we know them are evolving, and it is essential to understand what the future could hold for communication professionals.

This session will illuminate best practices for navigating virtual congresses with regard to overcoming operational challenges, developing effective poster/oral presentations, and future directions.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
  • Understand how to navigate different requirements, timelines, and budget considerations associated with virtual congresses
  • Learn best practices for developing effective and engaging content for virtual presentations
  • Gain insights into the future of scientific congresses
