  • Tom Barton | Executive Director, Payment Network Office - J.P. Morgan Chase

    Tom Barton recently joined the JPMorgan Chase Payment Network Office in the Payment Brand Initiatives area, heading up the change intake and communications team.

    Tom has been with Chase, and predecessor organizations since 1998, holding various roles in Systems Development, Operations Project Management, Fraud Risk and Payment Network Relations on both the Issuing and Acquiring sides of the card business.

    Prior to his current role, he had a long tenure in authorizations and fraud risk, having led multiple platform conversions, portfolio acquisitions, and business process mergers related to fraud risk management. Over his tenure, Chase maintained top tier performance in both high authorization approval rates, as well low fraud loss rates.

  • Karen Ions | Head of Payment Network Office Merchant Services - J.P. Morgan Chase

    Karen Ions is head of JPMorgan’s Payment Network Office, which is responsible for managing the firm-wide relationship with the various payment networks, such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB and China Union Pay.

    The Payment Network Office provides support across several JPMorgan businesses including its Merchant Services and Commercial Card businesses within the Corporate Investment Bank, as well as the Card Services and Consumer Bank with the Consumer and Community Bank.

    Karen has been with JPMorgan Chase since 2011, when she joined the CCB Legal function in the London office. She moved from London to Chicago in 2014 and has held various leadership roles within CCB Legal, the last being the General Counsel for CCB Digital, as well as the Strategic Transactions team. Karen’s move to the Payment Network Office marks Karen’s first non-lawyer role in over 17 years.

  • Vickie Martinez | Vice President, Payment Network Office - J.P. Morgan Chase

    Vickie Martinez has more than 25 years of experience in the payment processing industry. As part of the JPMorgan Chase Payment Network Office, her role includes strategic review of payment brand initiatives including industry updates, changes to rules, operational and technical modifications; as well as communication of these initiatives, both internal and external.

    She has served as a key partner in a number of Visa and Mastercard working groups, focused on shaping the payments ecosystem including release management, authorization enhancements, merchant advocacy, acquiring initiatives and payment brand communications. Vickie is an effective leader and seasoned resource in the ever-evolving payment brand space.
