Over the past decade, gift cards have become increasingly popular to legitimate consumers and criminals alike. In this session, we will focus on understanding the most common ways that criminals are currently misusing and abusing gift cards and what you as a retailer can do to tell fraudulent usersĀ  apart from legitimate users to protect your customers and brand. Ranging from scams to outright thievery, gift cards have become a favorite of modern day criminals for a multitude of reasons both online and in store. Whether you represent a retailer selling other brands or work directly with your own first party branded products, understanding these methods of attack and what you can do to prevent it is a crucial first step to protecting your customers and your brand.
