There has been a lot of news lately about alternative ways to pay, but there are not as many examples of how exactly these alternatives may work. Join our group of panelists to discuss not only what is coming to market but how these payments are being implemented to achieve an integrated checkout experience for customers. You will hear different examples from Buy It Mobile, Flexa and Citcon on how they work with merchants on implementing everything from real time payments to cryptocurrencies, as well as what results have been through these implementations.

Learning Objectives: 
1.The attendee will be able to understand how QR code payments work and how they support international and local commerce
2.The attendee will have a better understanding of current digital currency payments trends and how these payments can be implemented
3.The attendee will be able to understand how a digital ACH transaction can securely and efficiently drive greater engagement between the merchant and the consumer

  • Trevor Filter | Co-Founder, Flexa

    Trevor Filter is a co-founder of Flexa, a digital currency payments network making real-world payments more efficient, accessible, and affordable for everyone. Trevor began his career at the MIT Media Lab, and was previously Head of Product & Design at Raise, Head of Product at Slide, and a senior product manager for American Express.

  • Troy Carrothers | President - Buy It Mobility (BIM) Networks Inc.

    Troy joined Buy It Mobility (BIM) Networks as President in 2020. With approximately 30 years in retail and financial services, Troy has spent the majority of his career building and leading private label and affinity credit card loyalty programs for retailers and credit card issuers. Prior to joining BIM, Troy led the transformation of Kohl’s Retail and Financial Services division from a cost center to Kohl’s largest profit center, setting new standards for leadership in retail credit cards, payment acceptance, and customer service for the retail and financial service industries.

    Early in his career, Troy held management and senior leadership roles in investments, credit risk management, finance, and customer service in the U.S. and Latin America with Citigroup and Fidelity Investments.

    As an active member of several charitable organizations for children’s causes and financial literacy, Troy is highly involved in the community. He has also served on the board of directors of several professional and charitable organizations and has previously worked as a part-time college professor in international management and finance. He currently serves as the chairman of the board of directors for Junior Achievement of Wisconsin and was the chairman of the board for the Merchant Advisory Group from 2018 to 2019, representing approximately 160 merchants domestically and internationally.

    Troy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Arlington (1993), a Master of Business Administration degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management (1996), and a certificate in strategic financial leadership from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth (2014).

  • Jean Kany | Vice President of Retail Sales - Citcon

    Jean Kany is Vice President of Retail Sales for Citcon, a global payment technology company that has built a payment infrastructure to enable Mobile Wallets and Alternative Payment (APM) consumers to shop and pay anywhere, anytime around the world. Jean oversees Citcon’s global merchant partners, including brands like Macy’s, Tumi, MGM, GNC, HMSHost, Hyatt, and Panda Express. Previous to Citcon, Jean was the founder of Ekitt Technologies Ltd, an online-to-offline postcard service, Product and Marketing Director for LION Travel Service, and TV host of a Taiwanese adventure travel show. He has his Master’s Degree from the ESSCA School of Management.
