Description
Early childhood educators and care providers support the values, strengths and potential of each child and their family. This workshop will encourage participants to explore their own social identities. Participants will discuss concepts related to equity, diversity and inclusion. Participants will engage in activities that promote an appreciation for different cultures.

Training Video Length: 1 hour and 22 minutes

Learning Objectives - Participants will be able to:

  1. Reflect on their own social identities and understand how these identities show up in their work
  2. Identify and reflect on bias and explore anti-bias methods that support their work with children and families.
  3. Learn strategies to foster healthy relationships with children and their families that include culturally appropriate behavioral guidance
Content Level: Beginning level courses introduce learners to a content area; include information about a condition, treatment method, or issue; and involve learning and comprehending content.

Social Work - Approved for 1.0 Michigan SW CEU’s
IMH Endorsement® - Will count towards the requirements for the MI-AIMH Endorsement®
SCECHs: This training offers State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs) for those with educator certification in Michigan. To receive SCECHs, you will need to provide your PIC and MiRegistry numbers when you created your MI-AIMH RELATE User Account. If you did not add those items you can go back to add those items or email lsheldon@mi-aimh.org to have those added. In order to receive SCECHs, individuals must also have a MiRegistry account. If you need to create an account to go www.miregistry.org and click on Create Account.
