Description
The RTR Sociometrics Certificate is designed to provide treatment professionals with the necessary skills and instruction to properly facilitate several of the therapeutic processes outlined in Dayton's latest book, Sociometrics: Embodied, Experiential Processes for Healing Trauma and Addiction. Over the course of five modules, participants will get in-depth guidance on how to use basic sociometry and psychodrama techniques, spectrograms, locograms, floor checks, timelines, and experiential letter writing with the clients they serve. Certificate requirements include a combination of live training, readings from Dayton’s book, instructional videos with step-by-step guidance, clinical tips, and content knowledge tests.
RTR Sociometrics Certificate – Overall Learning Objectives
    People who complete the certificate program will be able to:
  • Provide a detailed description on how to facilitate the following sociometric processes: floorchecks, locogram, spectrogram, trauma timeline, resilience timeline, and experiential letter writing with the clients they work with.
  • Articulate an overall understanding of the theoretical foundations of the following sociometric processes: locogram, spectrogram, trauma timeline, resilience timeline, floorchecks, and experiential letter writing.
  • Facilitate the following sociometric processes in their work with clients: floorchecks, spectrogram, trauma timeline, resilience timeline, and experiential letter writing.
  • Avoid common mistakes when facilitating the following sociometric processes and summarize how those mistakes can impact the processes: floorchecks, spectrogram, trauma timeline, resilience timeline, and experiential letter writing.
  • 5. Define relational trauma, describe common symptoms and manifestations of relational trauma, and how embodied therapeutic work can benefit people they work with.
To qualify for the Relational Trauma Repair (RTR) Sociometrics Certificate, all candidates must
    People who complete the certificate program will be able to:
  • Complete the two-day, RTR Sociometrics training;
  • Watch all of the video-guided trainings, one for each sociometric process, and pass the respective content knowledge quizzes
  • Finish completing 90 hours in psychodrama training from a PAT, TEP, or NAADAC approved trainer (up to 45 hours can be virtual and the two-day RTR Sociometrics training will fulfill 14 hours) NOTE: If you are going for an ASGPP certification in psychodrama, all of your training hours need to be from a PAT or a TEP approved trainer. Training hours from a NAADAC approved trainer who is not a PAT or TEP approved trainer count only for the RTR Sociometrics certificate and not for the ASGPP certification.
  • Maintain a current credential or license as a substance use disorder/addiction counselor or professional counselor (social worker, mental health, marriage & family or LAP-C) issued by a state or credentialing authority;
  • Complete the assigned readings in the text, Sociometrics: Embodied, Experiential Processes for Relational Trauma Repair by Tian Dayton, PhD, TEP, and in the accompanying certificate binder, RTR - Sociometrics: A Facilitator Guide to Processes.


The certificate program is a combination of video-guided instruction, assigned reading, content knowledge quizzes, two-day live training requirement, and proof of credentialing and training experience. About Tian Dayton, PhD, TEP
Tian Dayton, PhD, TEP

Tian Dayton, PhD, TEP, is a senior fellow at The Meadows, author of fifteen books and creator of Relational Trauma Repair-Sociometrics (RTR-S). Dayton was professor of psychodrama at New York University. She is a fellow of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (ASGPP) and former editor-in-chief of The Journal of Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy. She has received numerous awards including the Marty Mann award, the Mona Mansell award, the Ackerman/Black award and ASGPP’s lifetime achievement award, scholar’s award and president’s award.

Interactivity
The certificate program is a combination of recorded webinars, assigned readings, and content knowledge quizzes. It also requires uploading proof of certain completed certificate requirements, such as two-day training, credentialing, and psychodrama training.

Earn 11.5 Continuing Education Hours (CEs)
To earn a CE Certificate for attending this training, you must watch all recorded videos, complete the assigned reading, complete the survey evaluations for each module, and pass the content knowledge quizzes.
