Description

In this session you will be presented with tools to build effective and strategic supplier relationships. This session will focus on the importance of clear communication and how to approach opportunities and challenges with creativity. A strong management strategy encourages suppliers to improve their performance to enhance effective and beneficial partnerships. This session will include how to integrate this strategizing in with internal processes, thus emphasizing the value to all stakeholders.

Session Objectives:

  1. To identify a definite process for supplier management.
  2. To review how to set and communicate clear objectives with suppliers.
  3. To focus on creating a holistic approach.
  4. To outline service level agreements and manage information.

    Jacki Ahern is currently a Procurement Contracts Specialist Sr. /Senior Buyer at Arizona State University in Tempe Arizona, as well as the 1st Vice President of NAEP’s Pacific Region. Jacki is a graduate of Drexel University where she received a BS in Design and Merchandising.

    Jacki started her career in retail management and buying for Urban Outfitters, Ann Taylor and Macy’s. Shortly after moving to Vail Colorado she and her husband started an electrical contracting company where she held the position of operations manager. Operating a small business with fifty employees’ Jacki learned to wear many hats; purchasing, hiring, training, estimating, contracts, payroll, accounts payable/receivable. After selling the company and moving to Anthem Arizona she worked in K-12 public education for nine years in accounting, purchasing and payroll. Jacki has spent the last five years in purchasing for higher education where she feels the ever changing and vast array of needs of a university gives her the perfect opportunity to add value to the university and mentor the next generation of purchasing professionals.

    Jacki volunteers at Home Fur Good animal shelter in Phoenix, Arizona and has two grown daughters with her husband Robert of thirty two years. Robert is a graduate of Drexel University where he received a BS in Electrical Engineering, they met their first day at Drexel at the freshman mixer.
