Contracts & Risk: The Big Picture

The NAEP On-Demand Learning Library
Contracts & Risk: The Big Picture
Course Description
Contracts are both catalyst and tools for the effective management of risk and set the stage for our ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This session is both a good foundation and refresher course, discussing why we have contracts to begin with, how we can use them to create sustainable relationships, and ways to encourage participation and collaboration in managing risk for more positive outcomes. The goal of this session is a focus shift from risk consequences to risk evaluation and prevention, and to equip procurement professionals with the right tools to manage inevitable risk and view contracts as a true business asset. We will discuss both classic and emerging contract trends as well as how to navigate challenging or inflexible logistics. This session is not category-specific in nature but aims to bring core competencies and soft skills transferrable in any environment or organization.
