Course Description
Please join us for this three-hour interactive session where we cover foundational contract terminology and discuss best practices, frequently encountered situations, strategies, and challenges.

You will learn what the most common contract roadblocks are, resolution options, and what to do if the other party is unwilling to negotiate.

The 2nd half of this session will cover bonus specialized content regarding current trends and updates in IT/Technology contracts, including data privacy, data security, and accessibility. Learn verbiage and skill sets that will help you feel more confident in reviewing documents and assessing general risk landscape.

These tools will help you both evaluate vendors and position yourself as a trusted advisor to your internal stakeholders.

Lynn Magill
Assistant Director, University of Washington's Strategic Sourcing & Contracting Department

Lynn Magill (she/her) is the Assistant Director of the University of Washington’s Strategic Sourcing and Contracting Department. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a Master’s in Professional and Creative Writing, as well as a professional certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Lynn has over 35 years of experience in private and public contracting, insurance, bonds, and procurement. She has been a corporate trainer and negotiator/risk manager for Fortune 15 companies and a national subject matter expert in government, Small Business Administration policy, and Native American tribal law. She currently serves on the Sourcewell Advisory committee, IT Accessibility, and DEI committees at the University of Washington, and the board of directors for a social justice nonprofit. She is a published author and provides volunteer services to diverse nonprofits by assisting them with 501(c)3 applications, technical writing, and grant applications.
