Program description:
Pumps with VFD variable frequency drives are intended to supply water at any flow rate with consistent pressure. Only the pump control was designed for variable capabilities so the rest of the supply system must be able to support the pump in providing small flows. Check valves are an essential part of the system to control flow and protect the pump and other water system components. Traditional check valves generally do not provide a wide range of variable flow with minimum pressure loss. A (VFC) Variable Flow check valve is designed to allow and control small flow rates with a consistent slight pressure loss and still allow the flow rate expected for peak demand at the high flow rate.
A properly designed VFC valve includes components working together to control the complete flow range with the small flow and maximum flow portions of the valve working together to control all the flow rates the system provides. The advanced design adjusts to a broad range of flow rates ensuring reduced pressure loss and improved VFD pump efficiency.
