Premium Webinar Series: Smoke Management - System Design Case Studies

Now available on-demand!

Live Webinar: April 29, 2022; 12 - 1:30 p.m. EDT

Description:
Traditional atrium smoke control system design uses hand calculations, spreadsheet models, or CFD to determine system performance, with consideration of factors such as smoke layer position, smoke tenability, and design fire selection. Atrium smoke control systems are considered "smoke management" systems versus "smoke containment" systems due to the potential for occupant exposure to smoke.

This webinar will show multiple case studies showing the application of the design approaches in traditional atrium spaces, and non-traditional spaces that use smoke management as a design basis. Non-traditional spaces include retail malls, theaters, stadiums, and jails.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding when to use layer height versus tenability analysis as the primary performance criterion.
  • Gaining an understanding of how to apply atrium smoke management approaches in non-traditional spaces.
