Description:
Students' numeracy development will be enhanced if teachers and parents are working in partnership (as happens with literacy and home readers). However, many parents have low levels of confidence in numeracy and Maths. In this session an experienced primary teacher and school leader will outline some approaches that they have used to increase parent confidence and to bring parents into the numeracy partnership. There are opportunities to work with parents to raise numeracy skills across the school - but this session will focus on working with parents of students from Foundation to Grade 3.
