Description

Participants will review concepts in the Ling system that can be applied to children who have speech challenges. Using a listening and spoken language framework, case studies will allow participants to use new tools in assessing, developing, and remediating listening and spoken language.

During this session participants will:

Explain the concepts of the Ling system for supporting listening and spoken language in children with complex needs.
Review resource materials that assist in using the Ling system to assess and remediate listening and spoken language in English and Spanish.
Implement resource materials in assessing and remediating speech issues demonstrated in video case studies.

Mary McGinnis, previous Director of the John Tracy Center Graduate Program, is currently faculty in two graduate programs (JTC and CSULA), mentors future LSLS candidates, and is a member of the Ling Consortium.
María Fernanda Hinojosa PhD, CCC-SLP, LSLS Cert. AVT

Maria Fernanda Hinojosa provides auditory-verbal services in Mexico as Director of Aurea Lab. She is a member of the A.G. Bell Board and the Ling Consortium, and collaborates with John Tracy Center on various projects.
Brianda Campero Calderón-Gutiérrez BSc, SLP

Brianda Campero Calderón-Gutiérrez is a speech language therapist at Aurea Lab in Mexico City. She provides therapy and guides families from different Spanish-speaking countries mainly through telepractice under the supervision of María Fernanda Hinojosa.
Marimar Sánchez Menchero, BSc, SLP
