  • Geordie Mitchell

    Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management and Outreach
    La Jolla Country Day School


    Geordie Mitchell has literally spent his life on school campuses. He was born and raised on the campus of St. Paul’s School in Baltimore and began his own independent school career at Trinity-Pawling School, an all-boys boarding school in New York where he taught, coached, advised, and served as both the Assistant Director of the Capital Campaign and the Director of Admission. Called back to his roots, Geordie returned to St. Paul’s for 14 years. During that time, he served as the Director of Development and the Director of Admissions. He was the Assistant Head for External Relations at Wilmington Friends School where he oversaw the admissions, development, and communications departments. He returned to admissions in his role as Director of Enrollment Management at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, MA, and finally came to his current role as Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management and Outreach at La Jolla Country Day. Geordie’s experience has encompassed grades PK-12, day and boarding, and spiritual and secular schools. A founding and current Board member for AISAP, Geordie has been a frequent presenter at conferences and workshops around the country and abroad on various aspects of enrollment management.

  • Debby Murphy

    Director of Education & Learning, AISAP

    Debby Murphy has served as an independent school administrator for 26 years. She served as Andover’s Senior Associate Dean of Admission from 1991-2008 and then as the Director of Alumni Engagement from 2008-2015. In these responsibilities she has visited hundreds of public, private and independent schools and met with thousands of applicants throughout the country.

    More recently, Debby worked at Nashoba Brooks School, a PreK-8th grade, all-girls school in Concord, Massachussetts, where she was the Assistant Head for Advancement and Enrollment. In this role, Debby launched a new Advancement team and was responsible for strategy and day-to-day operations for admission, development & alumni relations and marketing & communications. She has served on a variety of strategic planning committees and is particularly skilled and passionate about strategic planning, design thinking, process mapping, and the topic of organizational leadership. Over the years, Debby has presented at conferences on topics ranging from Creating an Alumni and Parent Admission Network to Measuring Alumni Engagement to High-Performance Habits and Leadership.

  • Dr. Lisa Bunder

    An enrollment manager who started out in institutional research and assessment, Lisa has a strong foundation in data-based strategy for small private colleges. But with degrees from and experience at regional and flagship public universities, there isn’t a college she can’t help. Lisa serves as interim vice president, develops research and analysis projects, and assesses strategy and institutional performance.
