Description:
Communicating with patients, administration, stakeholders, and colleagues requires different approaches and styles - communication and professional skills are not a priority focus for most post-graduate healthcare education programs, as such honing these skills requires additional education post-graduation. This pre-conference workshop will focus on developing your professional image and professional skills as a case manager working in complex healthcare environments. The session begins with a panel on communicating effectively within organizations and ends with a session on the latest developments in social media tools and strategies to enhance your professional image while communicating externally with a wider audience. Discuss how to harness the power and avoid the pitfalls of social media.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Apply appropriate communication strategies in a variety of settings.
  2. Develop skills in the use of social media tools to maintain and promote professionalism.
